WORK UNDER NO 5 SCHEME.
WELLINGTON, February 16. In the course oi an interview Mr - Hamilton, Minister of Employment., said that much useful .and reproductive work had been done under Number Five Scheme, but it was recognised! that there was a difficulty to provide* sufficient work to keep all of the mea employed, especially in the cities. It may be necessary, lie said to underake some national public works, for employing the men in the country. It was not outsple the pale of possibility, he added, to adopt some form of dole payment to those for whom Jf they were unable to find work.
