GUN WOUND IN CHEST

While shooting rabbits with his employer, Lugi NaorOj at Shannon yesterday evening, Cecil James Wood,' .'.evciiiteo-i, whose parents reside at Wellington, received a discharge from a gun in the chest. It appears that the two moved apart, and Naoro, believing his> companion was behind him and to the left, fired at a movement of a rabbit in the scrub when he found that Wood had been hurt, not seriously, and was later taken to hospital. His condition is satisfactory.
MOTOR COLLISION FATALITY.
STRATFORD, Feb. 13. Leo. George Boeock, aged 22, died at the Hospital as the result of injuries sustained when his motor cycle collided, with a car driven by E. C. A. Gaw. SHEPHERD’S FATAL STROKE. INVERCARGILL, Fob. 13. Yesterday a single man, Robert Bell, aged 59, employed as a shepherd at Castledown Station, Dipton, was found in an unconscious condition on the property. He was removed to tlio Winton Hospital, but died soon'after arrival. A post mortem is being made. At the inquest to-day a verdict was returned that the deceased met Ins death a;?i the result cf cerebral haemorrhage, following a stroke.
