The man in charge of the laypch was following the custom of collecting tho tickets of the passengers, iw-hppiimibei-ed seven, including fom~women. .The launch, for some reason, cin’ved Found and : Struck the hullcp __ p ’ Some of the willows in the cabin were smashed and one woman was slightly cut.
The seams of the launch opened, and the craft began to sink. The master ordered the passengers into the stern, and " thou opened the throttle, and beached the launch in twelve minutes, jusfc as the water had reached the level of the flywheel.
A man passenger waded ashore, and he found a dinghy, and eventually the party was landed, none the worse, except for the damage to the women’s evening dresses.
