RESULT OF FIVE-YEAR PLAN

MOSCOW, January’ 27,

The Finance Commissar M. Grinko, in_ presenting his budget, said that under the Five-Year Plan the Soviet liaj invested 116 milliards of roubles in a construction programme, instead of the 86,000,000 originally provided. All the money was obtained . from the Soviet’s own resources. Forty-nine million people were receiving State aid and part-maintenance to assist them in their studies. Five per cent of the Budget was devoted to defence.
