GISBORNE, January 25.
The death has occurred of Mr John Edward Espie, ' aged 86. He was the oldest' male person, bc'rn in Poverty Ray, His father having been one of tho first five settlers in this district, arriving in 1838, For many year s lie 'conducted a model stud sheep farm.
