RELIEF WORKERS’ DISCOVERY

AUCKLAND, January 23
A rich find «f geld is reported from' Coromandel. Two relief workers, ALssi s A. S. Boswell and W. S. Sewell, who have been prospecting at the back of the hills near the township in their spare time, discovered 48 months ago outcrops of two reefs which gave good indications. After driving 170 ieet to one level and 150 feet to another they struck two reefs, 10 feet aml 8 feet wide, with small leaders junctioning. The official assays were Goz 4dwt 3gr and 3oz 4dwt 3gr resectivdy. The perseverance of these men has been remarkable. Working on relief in the day time, they have been driving and wheeling cut quartz at night by” candle light. They were working some distance from heavy bush, and had cut all the timber. A large number of men are now out prospecting in adjacent areas.
