GAOL FOR THEFT OF WATCH
WHAKATANE, January 18
The theft of a valuable gold watch belonging to Mr Duncan, of Te Teko, resulted in the appearance in the Whakatane- Police Court of- Robert Burton, horse trainer, ol ! Te Teko, •wild value from Queensland two years
;J rL was stated that when approached by the police in connection with the theft accused denied any knowledge of the affair, blit on a search being made of accused’s whare the watch was found: Accused was sentenced to two months’ imprisonment.
YOUNG MAN’S OFFENCES
MORRINSVILLE, Jan. 18
In the Mbrrinsville Magistrate's Court yesterday Co Hr. Alfred Jensen, aged 25, pleaded guilty to a charge of theft of a rifle at To Puke, and t"'o charges of obtaining credit) by fraud at Morrinsville. A favourable report on the previous conduct. of- accused!' was given by the police at Te Puke. Accused was convicted and placed on probation for two years.
