FIRST 1933 MEETING HELD.

RUGBY, Jan. 16.

The first meeting of the Cabinet this year will be held on Thursday. Sir J. Simon (Foreign Secretary) will return from Geneva to be present. Hp will remain in England for a few days, but he expects to return to Geneva for the meetings to be held next week.

Captain Eden (Under-Secretary for Foreign Affairs) leaves London for Geneva to-morrow; and will take charge of the United Kingdom delegation while Sir J. Simon is a way. To-day the Prime Minister (Mr R. Macdonald) was in ■ consultation with several Cabinet colleagues.
