FINE SPECTACLE
STEAM FROM MT. NGAURUHOE TAUPG, January 15. Ngauruhoe volcano presented an unusually beautiful) spectacle last night. For about an hour from eight o’clock onward a column of steam rose intermittently to a height -estimated at 3030 ft. against a clear sky. After a long period of inactivity, steam has been issuing quietly from the crater during the past two days and continued to-day. Hazy conditions have obscured the view this evening.
