CAR OVERTURNED
MOTOR LEAVES' ROAD.
AUCKLAND, January 14
When an attempt was being made to pass a road grader, which wa)s working on the Great South Road at- Mercer, at about hi.3o yesterday morning, a two-seater motor-car ran near the edge of the road, a portion of which gave way. The car turned a double somersault and dropped a distance of 10ft. among the willow trees which fringe that section of the road. It came to rest upside down against a tree. Although the driver had to be extricated from underneath he was not hurt.
A block and tackle was employed to haul the car back on the road, and it was found that except for a wrecked hood it had suffered very little damage.
