Leaping the rails as it rounded a curve, the engine of a goods train crashed on its side near Bathurst, the fireman, Leslie Burke Young, a married man, being killed. The driver John Gcbbie, had a miraculous escape. Tliougk covered with debris from the wreckage, he managed to crawl out with a few bruises and scratches.
