PLANES’ PART IN EXPEDITION. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) (Received 10 p-.m.) LONDON; January.ls. The Mt. Everest expedition planes, approaching the southern face of MV. Everest, are expected to reach the summit in the filial stage in less .than ninety minutes. The two aeroplanes will start from’ Purnea, 250 miles north of Calcutta, across the jealously guarded frontier of Nepal, and thence fly 13,000 feet above the savage wilderness and pathless jungle till they reach Mt Everest. The peerless airmen will take increasing draughts of pure oxygen, containers of which will be, electrically heated to prevent freezing.
