FRENCH BUDGET
HUGE REDUCTIONS DFCIDEO ON.

Cabinet, after an all day meeting, approved of measures immediately to balance the budget, and the measures are being presented to the Chamber on Tuesday. Ministers agree to a ten per cent, cut in their own salaries, and also to the following reductions in. departmental estimates : War, 200,000,000 francs; Marine. 150,000,000 francs; Air 200.000,000 francs; Civil Service salaries 250,000,000 francs; Civil and Military allowances 600,000,000 francs. The income tax has been increased by above 150,000,000 francs. No reduction lias been made in ex-soldiers’ pensions. There will one yearly lottery, the profits being devoted to war victims.
