MAYOR DECEIVED' RY A RARY. The chairman of the bouse committee of the hospital at Geelong, Victoria, who has just vacated the mayoral chair, scored off the present Mayor at a recent meeting. The secretary, referring to a recent visit by the mayor. said that be had been pari‘.ictilarly interested in the babes -and had picked out a red-headed baby as the future Prime Minister of Australia. “That red-beaded baby wi-1 not be the future Prime .Minister,” remarked the ox-Mayor, “for the simple reason that that baby is a girl.”
