Despite the holidays, the South Africam pound made another rapid advance nearer parity. , To-day £96 South African is equal to £IOO English.

Financial circles anticipate that the Union pound will probably be on a par with sterling .within forty-eight hours. The Government is still paying -the farmers subsidies c-n their exports.
