A platinum wristlet watch, studded' with diamonds, ;\lhl valued at fifteen hundred dollars, was lost in Queen Street this afternoon by Mrs Dorothy Abel, a through cabin passenger from America to Sydney, on the Matson liner Mariposa, which arrived from Los Angeles this morning. Afp-. Abel came ashore about/ two o'clock, and when leaving tue entrance gates of tin Queen's Wharf she noted ti c time her watch. A few minutes later, when she was at ti e (rimer of (umtiv.ns Street, the watch was missing from her wrist. After ret lacing her stops to the Mariposa. I.i.’s Abe 1 reported her loss to the police. Tli o watch lmd not been recovered when the vessel sailed for Sydney this evening.
