ADELAIDE, January 3.
In the tennis test Vinos to-day had a victory over Crawford, iwhjch clinched the rubbed for America. Vin.? s won 6—l, 6—2. His amazing speed disconcerted Crawford, who was not in his best form, and was overwhelmed all through. _ Quist beat Van Ryn 6—4, 6—3. The South Australian started nervously, but ;once in touch, he ’baffled . the American by cunningly placed drives. T-.ey werp three all in the pecond seo Quist held the mastery for the rest of the rubber, out-driving Van Ry n . In the doubles. Vines and Gledhill w e re not exerted against Moon and IQuist, winning 6—4, 6—4, 6—l. Moon was- unsuitable for Guist’s game. AA.lison and Van. Ryn beat Craw fold and Hopman 6—4, 2—6, 6—4, 6 4. There was little to choose between them, the Australians mulling their best opportunities.
