WEDDING BELLS

MANERA—COOPER. A very pretty wedding was solemnised in the St. John’s Church, Riinu, at, 2.30 p.m., on Boxing Day, between Alice May, fifth daughter of Mr and Mrs AY. A. Cooper, of Rimu, and James, second son cf Mr and Mrs D. Manera, of Rnatapu. The Rev. H. .). W. Knights, officiated, and Mrs E. Stoop presided at the organ. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her brother, Mr R. W. Cooper, was daintily dressed in white crepe-de-chine, and bolera coatee with silver lace let in the sleeves, wreath and veil and carrying a bouquet ol orchids, Ciiristnirs Lilies and roses. She was attended by Miss Maureen Manera, sister of the bridegroom, as chief bridesmaid, wearing a frock of white satin and a white Alt hat to tone, and a bouquet of orchids, pink roses and bells. Mrs Rasmussen sister of the bride, also attended -as matron of honour, wearing blue celaneso with hat to tone and a bouquet of orchids, bluebells and lillies. Mr H. Arnerich, uncle of the bridegroom, carried out. the duties of best man, while Mr Alt Cooper, brother of the bride, acted as groomsman. After the ceremony, the wedding breakfast was held at the residence of the bride’s parents, where the usual toasts were honoured.

Later Mr and Mrs Manera- left on a motor tour for their honeymoon, returning to Ruatanu ou Thursday evening, where they will in future reside.
