BIBLE CLASS CONFERENCE. (Per Press Association Copyright.) NEW PLYMOUTH, December 28. The annual conference of the Dominion Presbyterian Bible Class and Sunday School teachers opened yesterday. Over 300 delegates from all parts of the Dominion were present. The conference continues till January 4th. FIRE AT FREEZING WORKS. WANGANUI, December 28. Three engines were engaged in fighting a fire which was discovered tonight in the wool department of the Imlav freezing works. The fire had burst through the roof when the Brigade were informed, but brick walls prevented the spread of the flames, and the outbreak was under control in half an hour.
A large quantity of baled wool was destroyed. The cause of the fire i s unknown. No insurances are available. GIRL'S LEG FRACTURED. PAHIATUA, December 28. A girl, Vida Foster, who is employed Iby Mr J. D. Piper at Makairo, was ad. mitted to hospital with a fractured leg. She was gel t ing the cows in when she trod on a stone, rolled ove r and broke her leg. STio tied a handkerchief round the dog’s neck and sent it to her employers’ house to advise them of the accident.
