ISYDNEY, December 23,

Upon arrival in Sydney from abroad, Mr W. Hughes said: lam of the opinion bhitaga have distinctly improved throughout the Commonwealth. MR HUGHES BREAKS' ANKLE.

SYDNEY, December 23.

Right Hon. W. M. Hughes, who re--turned yesterday from his visit, to-Ot-tawa and Britain, broke his ankle a few hours later through falling across a garage well, from which he was unaware that the cover had been removed. .
