EVIL INFLUENCE
COMMUNISTS AND STRIKES
A vigorous denunciation of Communist activities in the Fife coalfields was made in an appeal to miners by Air William Adamson, formerly Secretary of State for Scotland, and general secretary of the minors’ union in the Tile district. Referring to the recent stoppage of work .it Loci tore coll.ery, Ait Adamson says: —“The- Communists exorcised their evil influence over the men \yith the same disastrous insults to the'men and their families an have invariably occurred in every one of the lightning strikes brought about by Uc.-niiniuii.-t activities during the past ten years. Immediately the trouble arose the Communists stented prey and made their appearance in this district, proceeding to buttonhole tlio men and inciting- .them to continue idle notwithstanding their know.edge of the fact that the Fife Coal Company absolutely refused to negotiate with men engaged in ft lightning strike. There is no more reactionary element in Britain to-day,” Air Adamson continues, “than the Communist Party with their policy to destroy Labour industrially and .politically, all under it Do insane idea that in disrupting the organised trade union movement and in destroying the political Labour Party they are paving the way for the revolutionary policy which they are paid to promote.”
