SEVERE EPIDEMIC IN INDIA

The absence of rain is responsible for a severe epidemic of smallpox in 'annv towns and villages in the Punjab. Nearly, one thousand have died in eight weeks at Lahore where tuberculosis is also rampant, due to bad sanitation and food adulteration. Two thousand have contracted the disease during the lost twelve months.
