AN ORDINATION SERVICE

NAPIER, December 20.

—n impressive ceremony took place at St. Patrick’s Church, Napier, when an ordination service was held by Arrhbishcn Redwood, th e , following being raised to the dignity of the priesthood:—Rev. Leo Spring, S.M., of Timaru; Rev. Alexander Robincsos, S.M., of \vellington; Rev. Maurice ißcurke, S.M., of Wellington an oldl boy at ,St. Bede’s College, Christchurch; Rev. Geo. Head, S.M., of Westport; and Rev. Leonard Bryce. S.M., of Fail-lie There was a large attendance at the church, the Rev. Dr. Casey, S.M.. bo'iig Master of Ceremonies, and T>-rs. Ma/iin, S.M., ami Goaney, S.YL. assisting tlie Archbishop in the service. Showing in voice and bearing little signs of h;s great age, the venerable Archbishop in his enunciation; deep, (■'ear and unfaltering, gave to the scr- ' vice a dignjtv and .reverence which could not fall to impress all who wit--11 essed it. At the conclusion of tlio ordination service,'the newly ordained priests gave their blessing to their relatives, friends and members of the church.
