LATE LOCALS

Twelve cases of infections diseases wei'e reported in the Canterbury and West Coast Health district -during la-d week. Two deaths occurred in Canterbury from tuberculosis. The figures are as follows;—-West C'aaet—Tuberculosis 1. Canterbury—Scarlet fever 5, diphtheria 2, tuberculosis 1, septic abortion 2, hydatids 1. The public are requested to assist the Post and Telegraph Department by posting correspondence and printed matter, and by sending telegraphed greetings as soon as possible before Christmas. Early posting and telegraphing will be of advantage to the public as delivery before Christmas Day will he assured. Equally nice to give or receive are the Xmas gifts now on display at Addisons. It is not too early to buy or reserve now. Inspection invited.—Advt. Most young men remember mother at ’Xmas, but few realise that they can purchase suitable and useful gifts nt W. H.
