MATCHES AT HOKITIKA TO-DAY

Two representative teams of the Canterbury Boys’ Cricket Association arrived in Hokitika last evening, and commenced a tour of the Coast here to-day. The A. team,? played at the Mental Hospital ground-, while the B. tennis met on Cass Square.

Hokitika opened poorly. Adamson being caught off Cade, a slow bowler, when his score wa,? only four. G. Stapleton and! Morgan formed a useful partnership and the score soon mounted, and at the luncheon adjournment seven wickets were down for 94.

CANTERBURY B. Y. HOKTTIKA

Hokitika had first use of the wicket, and made gooff headway in the face of a strong attack. Stout, a slow left hander, and .Penfold, right leg break, always commanded respect. Pierson, Baird anff Spence each assisted with useful scores. At lunch the score was 8 for 128. The innings closed at 2.40 o’clock for 159, and at 3 o’clock 'Canterbury B. had scored 10 for the loss of no wickets.
