Conditions of work and wages of retail shop assistants on the West Coast have been drawn up by the Arbitration Court. The award provided tor a minimum wage ol 80s fid a week to fully qualified assistants and Hls bd a week to branch managers. A week’s holiday on full pay in every year. provided for, and the number of juniors iu any shop is limited to two for the first senior, and one additional junior to each additional senior, provided that for every live seniors one additional junior may he employed.
