COLOMBO SMALLPOX OUTBREAK.

(Received this day at 9.30 a.m.) COLOMBO, December 20. There are thirty-six cases of smallpox to date, and the situation is now under perfect control. The port surgeon expresses his opinion that it i s absolutely, safe for tourists to land if they are vaccinated. All ships’ workers and agents have been vaccinated, and no person is allowed to board unless this precaution is taken. Ships entering the port ar e warned by the author- , ities that passenger's are advised that it is unsafe to land unless vaccinated, ,but there ar e no restrictions regarding the landing of passengers. There was a lull during the week-end, only one ca- c e being reported.
