EIRE IN PLANE (Ter Press Association — Uopi ,r i(jht.) DUNEDIN, December 19. At midday yesterday, a White Star aeroplane, No 2, just escaped destruction by fire while standing at the Taieri Aerodrome. Fortunately, members of the staff noticed smoke coming from the pilot’s compartment and found that the pilot’s helmet and cushion word on fire. Tile blaze was quickly extinguished. It is believed that the rays of the sun focns-cd by the goglos which bad been left in the cockpit were the cause of the fire.
