The long arm of the law encompassed Janies Anthony Coulthard, 32, a watersidcr, when arrested last week on a charge of stealing a gold vac eh. It was found lie had been wanted since 1921 on a- charge of failing to account for £2O l?’s to the Secretary of the Alillerton Miners Union. All trace of him was lost when he left the district shortly after the offence was committed. The police said he had told the secretary that the money was stolen from him. This was not true and when inquiries were made, he cleared out.
Accused wais fined £5 for stealing the watch, and convicted and ordered to come up if called on within two years, on the old offence.
