Winner of the “Monster Railway Competition,” Miss Lilian Linklater, of Revell Street, Hokitika, is entitled by her success to a first-class return railway ticket for herself and guardian to any part of tile Dominion during the holidays, and she will leave on Boxing Day for Auckland. There were over 1000 entries and the competitors were required to make a picture of a sect ion'.of railway drawn from the maji'of the Dominion, the prizes being awarded to those making their pictures the most attractive and original, and, ati the same time, giving the most correct definition of the railway section represenetd by the drawing. The results are announced in the December Railway Magazine, stating Mies Linklater’s solution is the correct one showing the section between Oamaru and Dunedin and between Dunedin and Middlemarsh, Central Otago. As the outline of the sections in question was in the shape of a face, thd sneeucsful competitor’s drawing was most; original, being that of a Scotsman in full Highland Kilts.
