YOUNG MAN FOUND HANGING

MASTERTON, December 18,

A young man named Alan 'Ashley Benge, aged 18 years, was found hanging to-day outside of the bathroom window of a whare on J. A, Toogood’s station, Homewood, where he was employed as a farm labourer. The deceased apparently had just had a bath, and he was naked when found. Hi s parents reside in Sydney, MAN HANGS HIMSELF. CHRISTCHURCH, December 17. James Robert Smith', an inspector employed by the Christchurch Tramway Board, was found hanging in a room at the rear of hie home, 27, Percivai Street. He had been in illhealth since the .strike last 'May. The body was found by his daughter. BOY’S DEATH BY HANGING. CHRISTCHURCH, December 17. ‘•There is no evidence of any other person being concerned in the hanging other than the boy himself,” said the Coroner, Mr E. D. Mosley, at the conclusion of the inquest into the death of Ronald Francis Stacey, thirteen-year-old son of Mr A. F. Stacey. The Coroner found that d«ith was th e result of asphyxia due to banging, asp < ale-1 with cc»Jgesti-m of the brain and aedima of the lungs. The boy was found in a state of collapse in the bathroom of hi s home, on the night of November 23. The inquiry was opened on November 24 but adjourned for the purpose of a post mortem examination, following statements made by the father.
