A youth named David James Means, aged 18 years, residing at Waitati, died at the hospital this afternoon at 4.15. f . .He was-ricShg a motor cycle from Waitati to Dunedin, and carrying a pillion passenger, named Fred•,erj,ck,:Brensell. aged 19, also of TV aitatiJtwhen the htubhine collided with a motor car travelling north. The pair were thrown to the ground, Mears receiving a broken right leg and severe lacerations, while JJrensell suffered a severely lacerateH' right hand and arm.. They were admitted to the hospital, and Mears died later in. the day. Brensell’s condition V'not serious.
