N.Z. REFRIGERATING COY
MEETING OF SHAREHOLDERS
[Per Press Association Copyright.) CHRISTCHURCH, December 15, An extraordinary general meeting of feiiareholders of the New Zealand Refrigerating Coy. was held to-day. The vice-chairman, Sir Francis Boys, presided over a very large attendance. The meeting was not open to the press. An official statement on the proceeedings has been delayed till to-morrow. The meeting was held to consider a report of the shareholders’ committee, and th© directors’ comments thereon and to give effect to a decision of the last shareholders’ meeting than the directorate ishould be increased from live members to seven.
The two new directors elected were Mr W. H. E. Flint (who retired last year from the managership of the New Zealand interests of Thomas Borthwick and! Sons Ltd.), and Mr J. R. Cunningham, a legal practitioner in Christchurch.
Mu- B. E. Tripp tendered his resignation from the directorate. It wais decided that the vacancy^thus? created 1 should he left open until the n6xrt c annual meeting. Legal opinion was obtained by the shareholders’ committee covering certain matters raised by the report of the shareholders committee. This was read to the meeting. The report was a long one, occupying a considerable time in the reading. The meeting, began at 2 p.m., and adjourned at G p.m. until Fob man- Ist. In the meantime the directors, the (shareholders’ committee, and counsel will confer on the investigating committee's renort. and the legal opinions thereon, and will report to the meeting on February Ist.
