BENGAL RIOTING
TROOPS LATER RESTORE ORDER. (Ur : ted Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) CALCUTTA, December 15. Several hundred Santhalis, aboriginals of Western Bengal, were concerned in serious rioting at Malda, under a tribal leader. They occupied a mosque and defied "the authorities, and announced that they would set up: a new government. The British district magistrate and police superintendent, when attempting to reason with them, were attacked with poisoned arrows and swords. One constable was fatally injured. The police opened fire killing three and injuring many. The situation i s now under control,
