ADDINGTON STOCK SALE

Except lot- lambs, there was little improvement- t-o-ouy in live stock prices at Addington sale. 'J lie;-? wa.i a slightly smaller entry of Leof, bettor in quality, and tuo market was a little firmer on selected lots. The balance were at late rates. Choice, hoary bullocks sold up to £lO 13s Gd; prime £7 15s to £8 15s; medium £6 7s till to £6 15s; light £3 7s Gd to £4 2s 6:1. Best heifers s-old* from £5 15s to £G l’2s Gd; one special l to £8 17s Gd; prime- heavyweight £4 2s Gd, to £4 15s;’light sorts from £3 % 61. Best heavy cows sold to £8 7s Gd; prime £4 to £5 ;medium £2 10s to £3 7s Gd; inferior from 30s. There was a v.s»ry small offering of store sheep. Ewes and! lambs sold at late rates. There were no quotable lines in wethers. Over five thousand fat sheep wore yarded, comprising more wethers tlum, usual. The market opened on a. lower basis, the bidding being more restricted as the .sale advanced. The closing -stages showedl a further decline, more part-id!ladly among the wethers of medium quality. Two thousand five hundred fat la-mbs wore yarded. The quality was again .goad. All classes met with letter competition by up to Is Gd per head on the previous sale. Best heavy lambs sold- from 15s to 17s Id; prime 12s Gd to 14s Gd; light from 9s Gd.
There was a large yarding of fat pig*. Sales were- again hard to make. Porkers gold from 19,s to 225. the best from 24s to 27:*; choppers 27s 6tl to 33s Gd; bat-oners 28s Gd l to 34s Gd, the best 37s Gd to 44s 6d. Store pigs were in sympathy with fats. KOKATAHI STOCK SALE. Despite unfavourable weather conditions at the above yards yesterday there was a large attendance of grazier, s and butehePs. A keen demand was in evidence throughout the sale .and prices were much in excess of general -expectations, the oxp’anation- being that abundance of feed is everywhere to be seen in the district. All classes of stock were well competed for and good cows with condition, realised improved prices. Fat and forward steers made to £6; heifers to £5; cows to £ 4 17s 6:1; two-year steers to £3 • one pen of 15-month -steers made to £2 13s. A small pen of lam big made l?s lid. The
total yarding comprised 96 cattle, 11 lambs and 2 pigs. For W. Kelly 11 lambs at B> a . 11 d, 4 fifteen-month heifers at- £1 18s. For Jamieson Bros. 1 red poll 2-year bull at £2. For W. R'itchie 2 dry c°ws at £2 12s 6d. For F. Ambergor 2 runnero at, £2 7s 6d, 1 veale.r at £1 7s. For T. FcclesfiHd 5 fifteen-month heifers at £2 4s. For 0. M. Harris 1 fifteenmonth heifers at £2 9s, 4 springers at £4 10s.. For P. Jqnfis 4 dry cows at £2. For T. O’Neil 1 steer at £5 10s, 1 runner at £3 10-s, 1 springer at £3 7s 6d. For A. W.
