INQUIRY INTO BABY’S DEATH

TEMUKA, December 14. An adjourned inquest was held before Mr C. R. Orr-Walker this morning on the body of a male child found in a creek near Temuka on August 24. Evidence was given by Dr. Scanned and Detective Studholme, and, in the case of the formoi, it was proved that the child was a full time one, had breathed, and weighed six pounds. The child was below the average. 'The poU'e e|fdence showed that every psssible aventle oil ..investigation had been explored without any definite result. The Coroner returned a verdict that death was caused by asphyxiation. MAN MISSING FOR WEEK. CHRISTCHURCH, December 14. No trace has vet neen found of Mr Frank James Matthews, who has been missing from his home, 1 7 , Spence Street, St. Albans, since Thursday last' Search parties have been out on the hills where he was last seen, but no trace has been found.
