CONTRACT BROKEN

SINGER HAS TO PAY DAMAGES.

(Australian Press Association.) SYDNEY, December 14. In the Supreme Court here Donald Dliu O’Connor, of Auckland, sued John Brownlee,, operatic singer, to recover £514 12s damages for alleged breach of contract. The. plaintiff claimed that this amount covered his engagement as the defendant’s manager for a concert tour of Australia and New Zealand, and money outstanding. The defendant denied there was. a contract, and also denied any breach and any alleged failure by him (plaintiff) to state proper accounts.

The jury found for the plaintiff, and they awarded him £174 32s damages.
