WELLINGTON, December 13
The agreement adjourned from November 30, in erder that the employees’ representatives might submit the employers’ latest offer to their unions,, a meeting of the Conciliation Council was held to-day, to consider further, the dispute between the Amalgamated Society of Carpenters and Joiners, and the New Zeeland Federated Builders’ ’'-tractors’ Industrial Associat'on of 'EmpuyCrs- Mr W. Newton, 'Conciliation Commissioner, presided. A complete agreement was reached after deliberation which lasted all, day, the principal question settled being that rff wages. A wage of 2s an hour was Jixed in the cage of journeyment, and Is 5d per hour in the case of improvers. The employers agreed to pay double rates for Sundays and 'hoi days, and in the case of ordinary overtime, to pay time and a-quarter for the first four hours, and time.and. adialf thereafter. Several other questions were also ’ settled, the agreement to be opperative to a period of one year.
