A TRAGEDY
POUND SHOT

PALMERSTON N., December 14
A tragic discovery was made at Awapuni racecourse this morning, when the body, of Victor Thomas Dibble, qn accountant and secretary of Manawatu Racing Club, was found in trees near the main stand, the cause of death being a shot from a revolver, fully leaded with the exception of two shells that had been fifed. Deceased had. been secretary of the racing club since the demise of the Icte J. M. Johnston two years ago, having come from Auckland, where he was assistant secretary of the facing Club. While in Palmerston North, the deceased was very popular and had been connected with the citizens Show Committee, Rotary Club.. and local branch of the Red Grogs Society. He had been in ill health for some time past.
