CHRISTCHURCH, December 14, Christ College cricket team put "up. a record score against Otago Boys High j School. A first Avicket partnership proI duced 344 runs, easily beating the previous record of 214, put up in 1917 against Christchurch Boys’ High School by R. Blunt and T. W. Tothill. P. J. Byrne batted solidly the whole day for a well-earned 208 runs not out, thus beating Blunt’s, 5 record score of 204 in the match previously mentioned; and the College team declared at stumps with the remarkably high score of tAvo Avickets doAvn for 567. The opening batsmen, F. N. Fen- . wick made 208 not out, P. J. Byrne ; 194, T. A. Harpur made 117, Otago Avon the toss and the captain , made tlie mistake of putting College in —a mistake because although the wicket had been thoroughly sodden early in the morning, it was in a fairly drs state by the time play commenced, and Avas, in the later stages of tho game, dead easy.
SECONDARY SCHOOL’S MATCH. CHRISTCHURCH, Dec. 13. Playing at Christchurch, ChristsCollege defeated Otago B.H.S. by an. innings and 368 runs. Christs College declared with two wickets down for 567, Otago replying with 69 and 130.
