AMY JOHNSON OVERDUE.

(Received 9.45 a.m.) PARIS, December 13. Twenty-two hours have passed without any news of Amy Johnson who was last reported flying strongly over Loanda, en route to Duala where she was due yesterday. AMY “UNLUCKY AGAIN.” (Received 11.40 a.m.) LONDON, December 13. Amy Moliison cabled her husband from Duala stating! “Unlucky again. Cannot arrive by Wednesday.”
FRENCHMAN CLAIMS RECORD.
PARIS, December 13. The airman, Detroyat, flew upside down at Villacoublay for 26 minutes, which is claimed to be a record. 7 PUSS MOTH MACHINES. MODIFICATIONS IN DESIGN, LONDON, December 10, Following investigations into certain accidents to Puss Moth aeroplanes, attributed to the flutter rudder, the Air Ministry has ordered that modifications be effected, states the aeronautical correspondent of “The Times.”
The modification is to he brought about by .fitting a weight to the leading edge of the balance portion, sufficient to make the rudder statistically balanced about the line of hinges. The modification must be completed within ten days, during which time Puss Moths should he flown at less than 105 miles an hour, and only in good weather. Those areoplanes not modified in accordance with the decision must not he flown at all after the 10 days’ grace.
Emphasis is laid on the urgency of the order by the correspondent, who adds that the Prince of Wales has regularly used a Puss Moth for the last two years, and that- similar machines were used by Mrs Mollison- during her record-breaking flight to the Cape, and by Mr J. A. Mollison and Mr Bert Hinkler in their Atlantic Dressings.
The de Haviland Company has arranged for supplies of the necessary balances.
