SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES.

COMMENT BY HEADMISTRESS.

(2 fer Press Association — Copyright )

AUCKLAND. December 12

“Of nineteen candidates who sat for the Training College entrance examination, fourteen gained complete, and four gained partial passes,” states the headmistress of the Epsom Girls’ Grammar School in her annual report. “There were no openings for these candidates, and five returned to the school to equip themselves further ter entrance to the teaching profession, only to find the door s again closed against them. Our fourteen candidates this year will meet with similar disappointment. We are at a loss what to suggest for these young people, many of whom are eminently suited to the profession of teaching, and had made it the aim and rfbject of their school career. One can only hope that other avenues of suitable’ employment will open for. them.”
