CHRISTCHURCH. December 13,
Caught taking articles at the shop of Wb&lwortil’s, Ltd., Sarah Ann Edgar a married woman, residing in Hills Road, appeared in the Magistrate’s Court this afternoon, charged with the thett of a pair of socks, a tooth brush and a length of elastic, to a total value of 2/11. She pleaded guilty. Sub-Inspector Edwards said that Edgar had 'been seen ( to ,Like ( the articles from the at 1 p.m.; woman admits the theft, and there was ho necessity for her to do it,” lie. said. “She is iu good circumstances, and told me herself that she did not know what prompted her to steal the goods.
