CROUPIER TO BE SOLD

TO EFFECT ADJUSTMENT.

AUCKLAND, • December 9

In order to adjust the accounts as between J. J. Corry and John and James Paterson in connection with the racehorse Croupier, the Registrar of the Supreme Court at Auckland will o''or the horse for safe by auction, cither during ithe Auckland Racing Club’s meeting at Christmas, or at the Wellington Racing Club’s meeting in January. Croupier has been the subject of a s>cd deal of litigation. An action was brought by Mr Corry in the Supreme Court at Auckland for the possession of the horse, but Mr Justice Herdman held that Croupier was the property of Messrs Paterson. Mr Corry then appealed to the Appeal Court, and, as the result of a document produced, which was not put in in the Supreme Court, the Appeal Court held .that there was a partnership as from August 1, 1931. Mr Corry later .apoked for coots in the Auckland Supreme Court, but each side was ordered to pay its own costs, and the registrar was appointed receiver of the horse. . ■■
