In the House of Representatives, the committee stageis of the Finance Biil and Appropriation Bill were completed this morning, and! the third reading of speeches on the Finance Bill was in progress when the House adjourned at 1 p.mWELLINGTON, December 10.

Tile Legislative Council met at 3.45 o'clock, and the Finance Bill, and Appropriation Bill were put through all stages and passed. The Council rose at 4.45 o’clock until January 30. The House of Representatives resumed at 2.30 p.m. The Finance Bill } and Appropriation Bill were read a third time and .passed. The Reserve Bank of New Zealand Bill, and Small Farms (Relief of Unemployment) Bill were introduced, and read a first time.

The’Hon. G. W. Forbfes explained that the measures were introduced purely for the purpose of circulating them among members, and they would not be proceeded with before the ad* journment till next year. Moving ithe adjournment of the House, Mr Forbes wished Mr Speaker and members the compliments of the season. The Leader of the Opposition and Mr Speaker joined in their expression of this sentiment. The House rose at 5.10 p.m. till January 26th. Provision is being made..for a’ resumption at an •• earlier date in the event of the Government considering such a course necessary in the public interest.
