WEDDING BELLS
GLOVER—ADDISON. Tile marriage was solemnised yesterday afternoon at Holy Tr nity Church, Grey mouth, of Mildred Beatrice, only daughter of Mr and Mrs A. E. Addison, lvlnketo vn, and Kennpth Nairn, eldest son of Mr and the late Mrs G. Glover, of Ruru. Archdeacon Jermyn officiated, and Mr-T. F. Savage presided at the organ. • The bride entered the church ~on the arm of her, ufnthpr., wearing, a grateful gown of.-;iyOjry over satin. The skirt • fell ini full flares to instep length, and. a- , deep flo.'.ice. flared from the V-shaped hip yoke. The bodice, relieved with unusual bolero effect, had tight-fitting sleeves pointed over the hands and trimmed with a flared frill and si.gilt rucking to the elbow. A tiny; sprig of orange blossom clasped the narrow satin belt, while touches of fngotting in silk threadi and bindings of satin made a charming finish. The silk embroidered tulle veil, which formed a train, was clasped close tcV her head with olusters of orange blossom at either side and a spray of buds at th? back. She carried an armlet of white roses and lilli.es relieved with , pink roses and tra : ls of fern.
The bridesmaid, Miss Brenda McDonald, wore a frock of peach georgette patterned in shades of pastel green, rose and yellow. . It was fashioned with • aiikle length; fully, flared skirt, and fitting bodice with crossover fichu collar and a. belt of peach velvet ribbon tying in a bow at the back. She wore a , smart pineapple straw lint tr mined with flowers and angel skin, ribbon to tone, peach satin s’oes and elbow length gloves nnd carried a bouquet of Iceland r°P~ pies, sweet peas and roses, repeating the shaded in .her frock. Miss Zeliria Steel attended as trainbearer, wearing a dainty frock of white, gorgette over satin. The full skirt had two frills at the hem-line, and the bodice had puff sleeves and cross-over fishu edged wit<h a f 1 ill. She wore peach coloured shoes and a band of rosebuds and forget-me-nots on- her hair, tied i with, a rosette of ribbon, and carried a posy of rose.buds- arranged with gold ; net and peach ribbons. On leaving the church little Ray Buchan presented the .brine with • a lucky horseshoe. ■ • The bridegroom was attended by Mr George Kennedy (Hokitika) iis best man. After the ceremony the bride’s mother received the guestg at a reception held at Harker’s Tea. rooms. Her frock of black ciepe-de-chine redieved with lace and beige • georgette, was sworn with a becoming, black Raeello straw hat, with red flowers. Her posy was composed of red clianthiis, sweet peas and fern. Later, Mr and Mrs Glover left on an extended tour of the North Island. The bride travelled in a smart frock 'of-, cocoa-brown ■ wool ..crepe with revens and trimming of silk patterned in shades to tone with her butteicup Raeello straw hat. She also carried a cocoa-brown facecloth coat, with collar and cuff trimmings of skunk fur. -•- .
