LOOTED GOODS

deturned to shopkeepers. AS THE SEQUEL TO A SERMON BELFAST, December 3.

Shopkeepers in West Belfast were surprised to-day to receive back quantkks of; goods looted from their shops during the recent riots. This action was the result of a sermon denouncing the looting in Shan-kill-road Methodist Church by the Rev. John McCaffrey, who had said:

“There* are-people not fair from our own church 'dloors who- have some of th© stolen goods, and these, stolen goods and ant ides wifi be a curse instead of 'a blessing. There could be no roa-1 ptlee of mind and sense of God’s forgiveness until there wa« restitution—either that those tilings be given back or paid for.” . Interviewed to-day, Air McCaffrey said he was pleased that his sermon had produced such a revulsion of feeling against lawlessness, and general regret for the happenings of the Daik Tuesday.
