The New Zealand Women’s Association held a.successful■. Christinas party aboard the Aorn.ngi, lent-for the occasion by the Union Company, several hundreds being present. The decorations included pohutukawa blooms, and New Zealand scenery. Maori customs* and music were kept prominently before the guests. Mrs J. W. Prentice
presided. The official party included Mr and Mrs Alfred Hill,fMr and jMrs Ij. J. Schmitt, Major Ross, representing the Union CJoy., and Mrs Horace Buck, who is retiming to New' Zealand after a- world tour.
