SYMPATHY FOR WEST AUSTRALIA

(United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright J .ii'bc VANCOUVER, December G. A “message from Rumsey (Alberta) states' that,’ Jacking the support of any organised body m their home provinces 'the farmers of Rumsey, who last month called for Western Canada’s growers to refuse to seed wheat next' spring, have' received the following cablegram:—“The Wheat Growers’ Union" of West Australia is not delivering wheat this harvest. The holdup is general..

When informed of the cablegram, Mr John McNaughton, leader of the Rumsey movement, declared. “We congratulate the farmers of Western Australia. If the Australians cannot afford to market their wheat, at twice the pi'ice we are getting, it is positive proof that we should stop producing, until out monetary and social systems are adjusted so that we will get at least the cost of production. We are glad to know that producers in other countries are going to make an effort also to adjust present conditions.’’

The Paraga (Alberta) wheat pool at its annual meeting, has already debated wheat holding, and proposed to strike without taking action. A resolution on a farm strike still awaits decision by the united farmers of Alberta.
