WELLINGTON, December 7.

The most violent interruption,- of business in the Hou« e of Representatives for many years occurred to-night when the House wa s proceeding with the committee stage of the Munipipal Corporations Bill. The orderliness. of the debat e wag suddenly ended by a heated scene in the public gallery. Mr F. Langs tone (Lab., WaimaDno), had just concluded speaking, when, a young man- who was prominent the time of the disturbances last May, rose in-the centre of the gallery and exclaimed “Mister Speaker, I want ,to •say something on . behalf of the unemployed.” The Chairman of Committees: “Order.”

The Chairman then called upon Mr H. McL. Campbell (Govt., Hawkefe Bay) who had risen in his place in 'the House, to address the Chair, but the interjector continued: “I want t° eay -something on behalf of the single men. You will take tb* Christmas adjournment soon, and . I want to appeal to you to do something before then. Wo canno t Tive on 13* 6d a week.”

At this stage, the interjector was seized from behind by a messenger ’anc( a. policeman on duty. •Struggling vigorously, he continued to address the House as he was dragged from the gallery, .shouting; “How, d° you expect a man to live on l'3s 6d a, week? This 's what you do to me. How do you expect a married man to live on 35s ? We want the right to live. We ar e starving.”

Ho continued t° shout,: “We want the right to. live; we are starving, ’’ until removed from the precincts of the Chamber. .
